Are You Standing Firm in God’s Truth?

The Daily Dose #0104

Advent is a season of light breaking into darkness. Christ’s birth showed us that God is true to His word and His promises cannot be extinguished. Stand firm in Him, cling to His promises, even in the face of difficulty, because He brings life and hope to a world in need. The Savior’s birth is the ultimate sign of God’s faithfulness to His people.
Today, let the promise of Christ’s coming encourage you. Reflect on how He broke through darkness in your own life, and stand firm in the joy and hope He brings. He is unshakable, and His love endures forever.
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
— John 1:5
Brief Biographical Summary
Jan Hus (c. 1369–1415) was a Czech reformer and preacher who stood for biblical truth against corruption in the church. His unwavering faith led to his martyrdom, but his legacy influenced the Reformation a century later.
Fun fact: Hus’s name means “goose” in Czech, and he famously declared before his death that though they might silence the goose, “a swan will arise” who would continue his mission—a prophecy many associate with Martin Luther.
