Your heart drives everything—what you love shapes your choices and justifies your actions. If your heart is anchored in Christ, your decisions align with Him, and your life reflects His love. But when other loves take precedence, it’s easy to stray. God commands you to love Him above all else because it will bring your life the greatest joy! He knows he alone can satisfy you.
Today, meet with God and ask him to redirect your heart toward Him. Let Him be the foundation of your desires, the anchor for your decisions, and the lens through which you view the world. A heart rooted in Christ leads to an incomprehensibly joyful life that honors Him, and blesses you.
"And he said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’"
— Matthew 22:37
Brief Biographical Summary
Thomas Cranmer (1489–1556) was a leader of the English Reformation and the first Protestant Archbishop of Canterbury. He played a key role in shaping the Anglican Church and authored the Book of Common Prayer, which influenced Christian worship for centuries.
Fun fact: Cranmer recanted his Protestant faith under pressure but famously reaffirmed it publicly before his execution, declaring his unshakable belief in salvation through Christ alone.
