Brief Biographical Summary

Richard Baxter (1615–1691) was an English Puritan pastor, theologian, and hymn writer known for his focus on heavenly hope and pastoral care. His writings, especially The Saints’ Everlasting Rest, emphasized the joy and glory of eternal life with Christ.

Fun fact: Baxter’s health was so poor that doctors predicted he wouldn’t live past his 20s, but he went on to live into his 70s, serving Christ faithfully throughout his life.
